Philipp Spörli
Head of Safety, Swiss International Air Lines
Philipp Spörli studied geography at the University of Bern. After completing his bachelor's degree, he completed SLS pilot training. In 1996, Spörli began his career as a pilot with Edelweiss Air AG, where he worked as a co-pilot and operations manager. From 1998 to 2002, he worked for Swissair AG as co-pilot and area manager before returning to Edelweiss for three more years as co-pilot and Head of IT. In 2005, he took a break from flying, worked as a Flight Operations Engineer for Zurich Airport AG and completed an MBA at the University of Maryland. In 2007, he was drawn back into the air and to SWISS. Spörli now pilots the A330 as captain and, as Head of Safety, is responsible for compliance with safety standards.

Marco Gadola

Marco Gadola studied business administration and economics at the University of Basel. He began his career in 1988 at Swiss Bank Corporation and later worked as an audit manager at Novartis International Ltd. From 1992, he held management positions at the Hilti Group for nine years. After five years as CFO at the Hero Group, he moved to the Straumann Group and served as CFO and Executive VP Operations. In 2008, he was appointed CFO of the Panalpina Group. In 2013, Gadola returned to the Straumann Group as CEO, which he led operationally until 2019. Today, he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of DKSH, WS Audiology and Medartis Holding AG, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of MCH Group AG and a member of the Board of Directors of the Straumann Group and Bühler.

We will be taking an airport tour as part of the event; as we are going "airside", we will have to go through security as if we were flying. The regulations regarding carrying liquids, dangerous goods etc. apply. Jackets and bags can be stored in the visitors' room. We recommend sturdy shoes.

Event Location:

Visitor Room Dock B - The Visitor Room is located at Check-in 2 on Dock B directly next to the Spectator Terrace B. As the visitor room is located in the public airport area, you do not have to go through security.

Arrival by car:

Parking at Zurich Airport in parking garages P2 and P3. SWISS has no "own" parking spaces on site, the parking fees of Zurich Airport apply.
