How can technology transfer from science to industry be ensured? What traces has the year of the pandemic left on the spin-off landscape and what is ETH doing to promote entrepreneurship? Dr. Tomas Brenner, Head of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lab sheds light on ETH's new strategy and takes stock with several representatives of established spin-offs from the forge of ETH.

Dr. Tomas Brenner earned a doctorate in physics from the ETH Zürich in 1994 and has been active in the field of start-ups and venture capital for the past 20 years. He is co-founder of a nanotechnology company in Sweden (2006) and held various executive management positions with technology firms, a venture capital fund (2000-2003) and USA based start-ups. 2003-2007 Tomas advised international start-ups and venture capital firms as an independent consultant. 2007 he joined Leister Technologies as the Head of Sales & Marketing of its micro-technology division Axetris and later as Head of Product Management of Leister Technologies. 2014/2015 he was innovation expert with the High-Tech Zentrum Aargau, assisting Swiss SMEs with innovation projects. Since 2016 Tomas has been Head of the ETH Innovation & Entrepreneurship Lab responsible for supporting aspiring technology entrepreneurs on their journey to successful startups. |

Michael Domeisen is Head of Partnerships and Member of the Management Board at ETH Foundation. Michael grew up in an entrepreneurial family in the city of St. Gallen. He studied natural sciences in Bern and Santander. His professional path led him to leading positions in non-profit organizations. Before joining the ETH Foundation, he established "House of Winterthur", the first integrated location marketing of a large city. |

Prof. Dr. Dr. hc, Monika Bütler is an independent economist and honorary professor of HSG. Her research areas are social security, job market, political economics and information economics. Besides her international research activity, she frequently participates in the public debate on economic and political issues. She is co-founder and publisher of the blog "batz.ch", a forum for Swiss economic policy. Monika Bütler is a member of the Board of Directors of Schindler Holding AG and Huber & Suhner AG, a member of the Bank Council of the Swiss National Bank as well as Vice President of the Foundation Board of the Gebert Rüf Foundation. |
Registration and fee
The number of participants is limited. Registrations will be considered in consideration of sector representation.
Fee per person: CHF 155. A confirmation of registration and invoice will follow.
Kindly note that the registrations are binding. A representative from the company management may attend if the original registrant is unable to attend at short notice. We are obliged to invoice in the event of cancellations without a stand-in and no-shows.

Arriving by public transport
Participants arriving by public transport take Tram 7 (direction Wollishofen) or Tram 13 (direction Albisgüetli) or Tram 10 (direction Bahnhof Enge) from Zurich train station, from the Tram station "Hauptbahnhof/Bahnhofstrasse" to the stop "Stockerstrasse". From there it is only a few minutes walk to the Hotel Park Hyatt main entrance.
Arriving by car
No reserved parking spaces are available. However, you can use the parking garage at the Park Hyatt Zurich which is located directly below the hotel.
