SMG takes your data protection very seriously and treats your personal data confidentially and in accordance with legal regulations. Your data is stored by us with high security and confidentiality standards and is not passed on to third parties. Access to your data is regulated and controlled. All employees are obliged to maintain confidentiality. 1. Scope and purpose of the collection, processing and use of personal data

Visiting the website

You can visit our website and find out about our services without telling us who you are. SMG members have the option of logging into the closed member area with their access data. SMG has access to the information you publish there.

Use of SMG forms (contact form, application for membership, event registration)

You have the option of using a contact form to get in touch with us. To enable us to respond to your inquiry, we need some mandatory information, which is marked with an *.
We only use this data and any other personal data you enter voluntarily in order to respond to your inquiry in the best possible and personalized way. This data is collected and processed in order to provide our member services and on the basis of our interest in responding to your request in the best possible way.

Newsletter

As a member, you are automatically registered for our newsletter. We use the following data for this purpose:

  • Salutation
  • First name and surname
  • E-mail address

The use of this personal data is necessary for the delivery of the newsletter and is also based on our interest in informing you about new offers or services of Schweizerische Management Gesellschaft. At the end of each newsletter you will find a link that you can use to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. An e-mail marketing service from a third party is used to send our newsletters. Our newsletters may therefore contain technical means such as tracking pixels, which are linked to the user ID of the respective newsletter subscriber. Such tracking pixels are used to recognize whether the emails containing our newsletter have been opened. They can also be used to record and evaluate the click behavior of recipients. We use this data for statistical purposes and to optimize the newsletter in terms of content and structure. The technical means are deleted when you delete the newsletter.

2. Guidelines for comments (for members only)

We are pleased that you would like to comment on a specific topic. Please familiarize yourself with our comment rules in advance. Schweizerische Management Gesellschaft reserves the right not to publish contributions. This applies in general, but in particular to defamatory, racist, unobjective and off-topic comments. No account will be taken of the decisions, nor will any correspondence be entered into.

Rules in detail:

Defamation / insult: In order to ensure a pleasant, objective and fair interaction with each other, we do not publish contributions that are offensive in tone. This includes the use of polemical and insulting expressions as well as personal attacks on other participants in the discussion. 
Racism/discrimination: It is not permitted to disseminate content that falls under the Swiss criminal law on racism and that disparages people on the basis of their race, ethnicity or religion or incites hatred. Discriminatory statements will not be published. 
Advertising: Self-promotion, advertising for commercial products or political advertising have no place in online comments. Calls for protests, associations or political campaigns are also not permitted. 
Copyright: We are obliged to insist on compliance with copyright law. Please do not pass off any third-party content as your own. If you quote third-party content, do so sparingly and cite the source. 
Rules discussions: The comment column is not a place to negotiate comment guidelines. Unlocking discussions are generally not published. In the event of a violation of these rules, SMG may be required to disclose the author of the comment to a competent authority.

3. Cookies

Cookies help to make your visit to our website easier, more pleasant and more meaningful. Cookies are information files that your web browser automatically stores on your computer's hard disk when you visit a website. When a cookie is activated, it can be assigned an identification number that identifies your browser and allows the information contained in the cookie to be used. Cookies do not damage your computer's hard disk, nor do they transmit personal user data to us.

3. Social-Media-Plug-ins

Social media plug-ins from Xing, LinkedIn and Google are used on our websites. The cookies for these plug-ins are deactivated on our website by default and therefore do not send any data. Nevertheless, your browser establishes a direct connection with the servers of the respective social network as soon as you visit our website. The content of the plug-in is transmitted directly from the social network to your browser, which integrates it into the website. 4. Right to information, correction, deletion

You have the right to request information about the personal data that we store about you free of charge. In addition, you have the right to have incorrect data corrected and the right to have your personal data deleted after the 10 years following your withdrawal from membership. 5. Storage of data

We only store personal data for as long as is necessary to provide the above-mentioned services that you have requested or for which you have given your consent and to comply with our legal obligations. Statutory retention obligations arise from accounting and tax regulations. According to these regulations, business communications, concluded contracts and accounting documents must be stored for up to 10 years. If you wish to delete your data after 10 years, please contact us at office@smg.ch.
