Scalability of the business model for a 180-year-old transport company
Registration open
What started 180 years ago as a small horse-and-cart operation in the immediate vicinity of Paradeplatz in Zurich is now one of the leading and most innovative logistics companies in Switzerland: with more than 250 employees, Welti-Furrer sets the tone in Switzerland when it comes to moving, storage, art logistics and special transports. In spite of or maybe because of its long-standing tradition and eventful history, Welti-Furrer is successful again and again in anticipating new trends and pushing forward into new growth areas. A good example is the new logistics centre in Zurich-Dielsdorf that houses the most modern maximum-security art storehouse in Switzerland and the largest fully automated container warehouse in Europe. Welti-Furrer is part of the Knecht Group, which has more than 1,500 employees in total.
